MORE "IDOL" GUEST JUDGE-NESS...
SHANIA TWAIN will be the next "American Idol" guest judge to take PAULA ABDUL'S seat. According to "People" magazine, Shania will be sitting in on the Chicago auditions, which will take place August 30 through the 31st.
VICTORIA "POSH SPICE" BECKHAM sat at the judges' desk for auditions in both Denver and Boston, and MARY J. BLIGE joined the panel in Atlanta. KATY PERRY is also in line to do it, but we don't know what city she'll be doing.
Also, CYNDI LAUPER would be up for doing an episode...if she gets the call. She tells "In Touch Weekly", quote, "Of course I would [do 'Idol']. I think there is a lot I could do for the kids."
One person who WON'T be a guest judge is...JESSICA SIMPSON.
Yesterday, the "New York Post" said they "heard" that her creepy dad, JOE SIMPSON, was trying to convince "Idol" producers to bring her on the show as Paula's permanent replacement. But Jessica's rep says that's, quote, "not true at all."
Joe also responded to the report on Twitter...quote, "So, I am in Thailand...but, of course, the 'Post' says I am in town trying to get Jess to be the replacement for Paula Abdul. Do the lies ever stop????"
ALANIS IS WRITING A BOOK...
ALANIS MORISSETTE is in the middle of writing some kind of book. There aren't many specific details yet, but here's Alanis' silly description of it:
Quote, "It's about all the themes I obsess and pontificate over.
"All this sort of body-dysmorphia-spirit humor, travelogues, photographs, articles I've written in magazines with a lot of touching on health and detoxing and re-toxing and the importance of integrating it all." (I already hate this book.)
DRAKE HAVING SURGERY...
DRAKE has announced that he's scheduled his knee surgery for September 8th, which will end up being more than a month after he re-injured himself onstage.
Back in June, Drake tore his ACL while playing basketball. For some reason, he thought he'd still be able to tour with LIL WAYNE...but that didn't work out. At a show a few weeks ago, he collapsed after attempting to RUN across the stage.
At the next show, Wayne said Drake was having surgery, quote, "tomorrow" ...which would have been August 2nd...but obviously that didn't happen.
TAYLOR READY FOR VMA'S...
TAYLOR SWIFT taped a promo video for her appearance on the "MTV Video Music Awards", (which goes down September 13th).
The video features Taylor riding in a New York City taxi while singing her own version of the song, "Tonight"...which you may know from the Broadway musical "West Side Story". Check it out...

SHOCKING STATISTIC....
Online dating seems like a great way to meet lots of interesting people and, hopefully, have lots of CASUAL SEX with them.
But, guys, before you dive headfirst into online dating, you really need to know what you're getting yourself into.
For example, a recent survey found that FOUR in FIVE women with online dating profiles say they've seriously considered becoming a single mom, either through adoption or by visiting a sperm bank.
And nearly THREE in FOUR women with online dating profiles say they've thought about asking a male friend to knock them up...with "no strings attached".
In other words, guys, before you join a dating website, you should realize that one of the main reasons a lot of women even bother setting up dating profiles is because they want to have BABIES...and soon.
GUY KILLED BY FALLING BOULDER!!!
A GUY WAS KILLED WHEN A BOULDER LANDED ON TOP OF HIS CAR: (!!!)
If you've ever driven through the mountains, I'm sure you've seen those signs warning you to look out for FALLING BOULDERS. And, if you're anything like me, you've wondered what would happen if a boulder actually hit your car. Well, HERE'S the answer . . .
On Friday, 45-year-old Thomas Murphy of Kansas City, Missouri, was driving through Snowmass Canyon in Colorado with his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons when a rock about the size of a cooler landed on top of Thomas' SUV . . . and KILLED HIM. (!!!)
Fortunately, Jennifer was able to shift the SUV into neutral and steer it from the passenger's seat until she could bring the car to a complete stop.
The family was rushed to the hospital where Thomas was declared dead and one of their sons, 11-year-old Ethan, was treated for cuts and a fractured bone near his eye. The rest of the family was unharmed.
According to a spokesman with the Colorado State Troopers, quote, "Boulders fall down up there pretty much every day. It's not like this was a 1,000-foot boulder perched perilously over the highway. It was a briefcase-sized boulder.
"It's just not possible to mitigate every single one of those that are in danger and could fall onto a road. Most of the time it doesn't have an impact like this."
